Recycled paper necklace

Description

These beautiful necklaces are made out of paper. Our women cut and roll paper into beads before gluing and varnishing them. The beads are hang to dry for a day before using them to create the desired jewelry. They normally make necklaces, earrings, bracelets among others. Each necklace is uniquely hand made making it different from all the others even when they are the same color tone. They come in different types for your desired choice.

To share a bit more about our beads project:

The beads project aims to increase the community impact of women in a male dominated society. With this source of income, the women of Kibuye village, improve the living conditions of their families. They are able to properly feed their children, pay their school fees and provide for their health needs whenever needed. Finnkibuye partners with Arise and shine Uganda a local community based organisation, to ensure the continuity of this project in Uganda. This project currently supports 40 women most of them being single mothers, widows and mothers from financially struggling families.
Arise and shine Uganda provides the ladies with all the materials needed for the craft work. The women then cut and roll paper into beads before gluing and varnishing them. The beads are hang to dry for a day before using them to create the desired jewelry. They normally make necklaces, earrings, bracelets among others. Finnkibuye purchases the beads from @ariseandshineug for resale here in Finland and all over the world. The proceeds go to support the ladies who make the beads and also to contribute towards the development of kibuye village through the projects run by Arise and Shine Uganda.
